FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you accept Mental Health Care Plans?
As a Holistic Counsellor, I am not in a position to accept Mental Health Care Plans. Registered Psychologists & Mental Health Social Workers are able to accept these. I am aware cost of living is incredibly difficult and counselling can feel unattainable, to meet this need I do maintain fees that are less than a standard gap fee.
What does it mean to be a Holistic Counsellor?
This means that rather than working on the identified problem in isolation, we explore the full picture - Mind~Body~Spirit.
This can look like exploring thoughts, feelings and hopes/dreams. In combination with my training as a Transactional Analysis Practitioner, my approach is to explore symptoms impacting you at present, as well as exploring the past to better understand yourself and others; This can cultivate space to develop self-awareness, autonomy & deeper connections.
Why are your fees lower than others?
As mentioned in the first paragraph, my awareness of cost of living and it's impacts on broader access has led me to the decision to not only lower my fees but to maintain this to the best of my capacity. My fees will not remain where they are now, they are subject to increase over time, however it is important to me to support access especially in tough times. As my prices increase, I will continue to seek ways to support those who are experiencing financial hardship.
Who do you work with?
I work with a diverse range of people - Ages 12+.
Couples (LGBT+ inclusive)
Aged/Elderly (Experience with memory support - Alzheimers & Dementia)
Adults experiencing challenges with mental health, relationships/intimacy, grief & loss, trauma, sexuality, dissatisfaction in work/career pathway, anxiety, non-religious faith/spirituality & more..
Youth 12 - 25 year olds
Individuals & couples seeking to deepen understanding & connection with self & others.
How will I find you without your full address shown online?
For security, I choose to not share my full location online. Upon booking, you will receive a reminder SMS 24h prior to your appointment which contains the full address. You will still be able to plan your timing around the address shown, if you would like this sooner you are welcome to request this by SMS.
Ok I want to book, what do I do?
All you need to fill in the online form or send me an e-mail directly to let me know you would like to book in. I will offer you a no cost 15 min. phone appointment, this is a valuable option to check-in that I am a fit for you and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Even if you have no questions, this will give us an opportunity to discuss service delivery options and availability. If you prefer to do this by e-mail/SMS, this is AOK - It just may take a bit longer to get to booking.
What is walk therapy?
Walk therapy is a walk & talk style of service delivery. This delivery allows for people to have a side by side, rather than face to face approach which can feel more comfortable when navigating complexity. Allowing connection with nature and the body, this option is very popular. Weather permitting, minimally populated areas in nature are offered by your counsellor.
